The Suzuki Violin Richmond Studio

This is a studio for highly committed students and parents.

There are weekly 1:1 lessons, Sunday group lessons and regular solo and group recitals.Parents are very involved in the process and there is a close relationship that develops between teacher, student and parent. Everyone works together to aid the development of the pupil. Many of my older pupils play in the National Children's Orchestra and Stoneleigh. They also achieve excellent results in exams (when it is appropriate to take them), play regularly in my chamber group lessons and chamber group.

We have lots of fun too. Watch our music videos including 'Perfect' (by Ed Sheeran) on Youtube. Explore the drop down menu in the Teaching tab above to find out more.

The Suzuki Method

Founded in Japan, also known as the 'Mother-Tongue' method, Suzuki was inspired by the fact that children so effortlessly learn to speak their native tongue. Prompted and encouraged by the parents' love and the family environment, the child responds and develops this most difficult of skills, that of intelligible speech. Suzuki closely follows the parallel with language learning and recommends that music should become an important part of the baby's environment from birth (or even before).
